79-year-old Man Shot And Killed By Four NYPD Police Officers After He Pointed A Firearm At Officers Outside Of The 111 Precinct Stationhouse In Bayside Queens New York

A 79-year-old man dies after being shot by four police officers when he allegedly pulls out a gun outside the 111th precinct station-house in the Bayside section of Queens, New York, United States, on February 18, 2025. On Tuesday evening, at approximately 6:40 PM, a 79-year-old man exits a vehicle near the precinct and displays a firearm. A uniformed officer engages the man in dialogue and instructs him to put down the firearm when he points it at the officer. Assistance is then called. Four police officers discharge their firearms and strike the man numerous times. Officers perform CPR on the man, and he is transported to the hospital by EMS, where he is pronounced dead. This is the second time in less than 12 hours that NYPD officers confront dangerous individuals, according to officials at a press conference. Evidence markers show where shell casings are found as the NYPD Crime Scene Unit investigators comb the area for evidence and search for clues. (Photo by Kyle Mazza/NurPhoto)
