Coconut thrown ceremony from Rato Macchendranath Chariot
Chakala Dangol, 77 yrs old, climps to throws a coconut from top of the chariot during a Rato Machindranath festival celebrated at Lagankhel on May 18, 2016. Rato Macchendranath is also said as the 'god of rain' and both Hindus and Buddhists worship the Macchendranath in hope of good rain to prevent drought during the rice plantation season.
