Protesters March In NYC In Support Of Mahmoud Khalil
A few dozen pro-Palestinian protesters face off peacefully with a few dozen pro-Israel protesters, some wearing red MAGA hats, in Columbus Circle beside Trump International Hotel & Tower in New York City, on March 15, 2025. The exchange takes place shortly after hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters and a few dozen pro-Israel counter-protesters march from Times Square to Trump International Hotel to demand the release of Mahmoud Khalil from ICE detention in Louisiana. Khalil is a recent graduate of Columbia University and a green card holder who is arrested by ICE at his home on March 8, 2025. The Trump Administration cites vague accusations of pro-Palestinian advocacy at Columbia University. Khalil is of Palestinian descent and is a lead organizer of pro-Palestinian protests on campus.
