First Successful Ostrich Breeding In Jaipur Zoo

Senior Dr. Ashok Kumar Tanwar and his staff members Annu, Anjana, Lal Singh, and Bhim Singh monitor the health of the newly hatched ostrich chick at Jaipur Zoo in Rajasthan, India, on March 19, 2025. This marks Rajasthan's first-ever ostrich birth from eggs laid by Avantika, who mates with Mallikarjun. Under their dedicated care, the chick is healthy and thriving, while the remaining eggs are still incubating. The team ensures proper medical attention and a specialized diet for the mother and chick. (Photo by Vishal Bhatnagar/NurPhoto)
