The Sumatran Orangutan Critically Endangered
The Sumatran orangutan relies on its instincts and exhibits essential survival traits in its natural habitat. On November 14, 2018, photos are taken at the Orangutan School, part of the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program (SOCP) reintroduction station in Jantho, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Citrakasih Nente, Head of Rehabilitation and Reintroduction at SOCP, explains the thorough reintegration process after a quarantine period due to human conflicts. Before being released, orangutans must attend the Orangutan School to aid in their transition back to the wild. (Photo by Sutanta Aditya/NurPhoto)
