Woman Stabbed On Wooster Street And Broome Street In SoHo Manhattan New York
A 25-year-old woman fights for her life after being stabbed in the neck with a broken glass shard during an unprovoked attack in SoHo, Manhattan, New York, on April 7, 2025. The incident occurs shortly after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Wooster Street and Broome Street, according to the police. Authorities report that the suspect, a man in his 40s believed to be mentally unstable, first smashes a bottle on the back of one woman before turning on the second victim, slashing her throat with the jagged glass. The suspect, who provides a false name to police, is detained by Good Samaritans until officers arrive at the scene. The critically injured 25-year-old woman is rushed to Bellevue Hospital for emergency treatment. The investigation is ongoing as police work to uncover the motive behind this daylight assault in the heart of SoHo. NYPD Evidence Collection Team personnel collect the glass and place the evidence into an evidence box for safekeeping. (Photo by Kyle Mazza/NurPhoto)
