Global March against Monsanto

Activists around the world will, once again, unite to March Against Monsanto. Hundred protesters took to the streets of Malmo, Sweden, for the 'March against Monsanto' on May 21, 2016, in a demonstration against multinational agrochemical corporation.The activists are protesting against Monsanto’s Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) products and the alleged monopoly that Monsanto has in the food supply market.Who is Monsanto?Monsanto is a big international company and was in 2005 the biggest seed-company in the world. As monsanto sells their seeds, farmers are forced to sign contracts that forbid them to save and replant. If the farmers violate the contract, they risk to get sued. Monsanto modifies the seeds so they fit together with the company’s pesticides and ferterlizers.
