Celebrating Last Day Of Bengali Year
A group of Hindu devotees dress as Hindu gods and goddesses to perform the rituals of Charak Puja in Khulna, Bangladesh, on April 13, 2025. This folk festival, also known as ''Nil Puja,'' takes place in the Southern Belt of Bangladesh and West Bengal. Believers of the Hindu religion celebrate it on the last day of the Bengali month of the year (Chaitra Songkranti). People believe that the festival brings prosperity by eliminating the sorrow and suffering of the previous year. The festival aims to satisfy ''Lord Shiva,'' the great ''Debadideb'' of the Hindu religion. (Photo by Mushfiqul Alam/NurPhoto)
