Attempted Homicide And Arsonist Investigation After Governor’s Residence In Harrisburg Pennsylvania Set On Fire With Governor And Family Inside In Targeted Attack

Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro shares his thoughts after an arsonist sets fire to the Governor's Residence in a targeted attack in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States, on April 13, 2025. On April 13, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., members of the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire respond to the Governor's Residence, located on North Front Street, Harrisburg City, Dauphin County, for the report of a fire. While the investigation is ongoing, the State Police is prepared to say at this time that this is an act of arson. While the fire is successfully extinguished, it causes a significant amount of damage to a portion of the residence. The Governor and his family are present in a different part of the residence.
