3 Rescued Lions At The Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary In South Africa

Photo taken on May 19, 2016 shows one of the 33 former circus lions at the Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary, Vaalwater, South Africa's northern Limpopo province. Three lions rescued by the Stichting Leeuw of Holland arrived at their new home, the Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary on Thursday. Emoya means "Welcome home" in Swazi language. The Sanctuary, with an area of 5,000 hectares, is currently home to 44 big cats. Thirty-three of them were lions rescued from circuses across Peru and Colombia and arrived here on May 1, 2016. The receiving of the 3 lions is Emoya's second cooperation with Stichting Leeuw.
