India-Kashmir Attack
Ambulances transport the bodies of tourists killed in a militant attack in Pahalgam, a hill station in the Himalayan region of Kashmir. At least 28 tourists die and several others sustain injuries when suspected militants open fire on a group of visitors in the Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam on April 22. The area is a popular destination for travelers. Following the attack, Indian security forces cordon off the region and launch an intensive search operation.
