A general view of Kathmandu is seen from the top of the replica of the newly constructed Dharahara tower after the destruction a decade ago, in Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 25, 2025. Nepal is hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which claims the lives of eight thousand nine hundred and sixty-nine people. More than 22 thousand are left injured, and properties worth billions are damaged in the disaster. According to official records, the earthquake damages more than half a million homes and other structures.
