Queima Das Fitas Parade 2025

Thousands of finalists from Porto's higher education system, wearing different colored top hats and walking sticks, gather in the streets of Porto, Portugal, during the Queima das Fitas parade. The Queima das Fitas parade has been held since 1901 and serves to introduce the city to the final year students. The top hats and canes are props incorporated into the academic costume and serve to mark the end of studies, and each color of the top hat and cane symbolizes the field of study (Photo by Rita Franca/NurPhoto).
