A 35-year-old man is shot and killed at Gov. Alfred E. Smith NYCHA houses in Manhattan, New York, United States, on May 9, 2025. On Friday evening at approximately 8:49 PM, police respond to 388 Pearl Street, Manhattan, New York. Upon arrival, officers observe a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS responds and transports the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, where he is pronounced dead. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing by the New York City Police Department. The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
