Supreme Court hears birthright citizenship arguments
John Eastman, a long-time proponent of ending birthright citizenship, speaks to reporters following oral arguments in CASA v. Trump, in Washington, D.C., U.S., on May 15, 2025. Eastman, who was disbarred for his role in Trump's attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election, claimed that the ablity to certify citizenship retroactively would not cause irreparable harm to children born in the U.S., despite the fact that they would be ineligible for a range of government services provided to citizens.
