Man Dead, Suspect Also Shot During Smoke Shop Brawl
A 42-year-old man is fatally shot in the chest, head, and back at a smoke shop on the 7000 block of S. Damen Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on May 23, 2025. While inside the smoke shop, the victim is involved in a verbal altercation with two suspects. The altercation turns physical when a 38-year-old man produces a firearm and fires multiple gunshots in the victim's direction. The 42-year-old man sustains four gunshot wounds to his chest, one gunshot wound to his head, and one gunshot wound to his back. The victim is pronounced dead on the scene. The 38-year-old male suspect sustains a gunshot wound to his left hand, is placed in custody, and is transported to Christ Hospital in good condition.
