Sri Lanka Former Minister Detection Of An Assembled T 56 Weapon Arrested Assembled T 56 Weapon
Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake is arrested over the detection of an assembled T-56 weapon without a license in Mount Lavinia, Sri Lanka, on May 24, 2025. The Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) arrests him in connection with the discovery of a gold-plated T-56 assault rifle found at a luxury apartment complex in Wellawatte, Colombo. The weapon is discovered on May 20 inside a woman's travel bag at the apartment complex, leading to the arrest of two women and subsequently Dissanayake, who resides at a high-rise apartment in Thimbirigasyaya.
