The crash occurs on Route 4 East, near Phelps Road. Upon arrival, first responders locate several people involved in the crash who are transported to area hospitals with varying degrees of injuries, including potential serious injuries. Accordingly, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office activates the Bergen County Fatal Accident Task Force, which responds to the scene and initiates a joint investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
