Marked NYPD Van Set Ablaze In A Second Arson Attack In New York City
Members of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit arrive to investigate the crime scene where an NYPD van is set ablaze by an arsonist suspect at 426 Union Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, United States, on June 18, 2025. On Wednesday morning at approximately 8:11 AM, the FDNY and NYPD respond to the area and find an unoccupied, marked police van set on fire on the rear passenger side. No injuries are reported, and the fire is extinguished. Damage is visible on the passenger side of the vehicle with torch marks. There are no arrests at this stage of the investigation. The NYPD sets up crime scene tape as authorities initiate their investigation. The ATF and other federal law enforcement are on the scene investigating the arson. This arson occurs just after another arson last week in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where several NYPD vehicles are torched in a parking lot, involving several fire starter devices being found.
