A 60-year-old man is found dead after suffering trauma to the head during a wellness check inside 1069 Sterling Place in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York, United States, on June 22, 2025. On Sunday evening at approximately 6:31 PM, during a wellness check inside 1069 Sterling Place, within the confines of the 77 Precinct, officers observe a 60-year-old man lying unconscious and unresponsive on the floor, with trauma to the head. EMS responds and pronounces the man dead at the scene. The Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing at this time. The identity of the deceased is withheld pending proper family notification. Members of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit remove numerous pieces of evidence from the building in the daylight hours, and officers place a sticker on the apartment door forbidding entry.
