Foreign tourists visit Galle Fort in Galle, Sri Lanka, on July 11, 2025. First constructed by the Portuguese in 1588 and later extensively fortified by the Dutch from 1649 onwards, the fort is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site preserved by the Department of Archaeology.
