32-year-old Hamid Thomas Was Fatally Shot And A 40-year-old Woman Was Injured In A Shooting At 2680 8th Avenue
An NYPD police presence remains in the area where 32-year-old Hamid Thomas is fatally shot and a 40-year-old woman is injured in a shooting at 2680 8th Avenue in Harlem, Manhattan, New York, on July 14, 2025. On Monday at approximately 2:37 PM, police respond within the confines of the 32 Precinct, PSA 6, and find a 32-year-old man identified as Hamid Thomas with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and the left arm, then discover a 40-year-old woman with a graze wound to the lower back. EMS responds and transports the 32-year-old man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem in critical condition where he is later pronounced dead. The 40-year-old woman is also transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem by EMS and is listed in stable condition. There are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
