One Man Killed And One Man Injured In Shooting Outside Glenmore Plaza Houses And Powell Playground Within Confines Of 73 Precinct

Members of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit collect a gun found at the scene inside Powell Playground and bring the collected evidence to the Crime Scene van. A 42-year-old man is fatally shot, and a 41-year-old man is injured in a shooting outside the Glenmore Plaza Houses and inside Powell Playground in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, United States, on August 3, 2025, at approximately 12:35 AM. NYPD police officers respond to a 911 call of a man shot in front of 160 Glenmore Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn, within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observe a 41-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs and a 42-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his stomach. Both victims are transported by EMS to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. The 41-year-old male victim is in stable condition, and the 42-year-old male victim is pronounced deceased by hospital staff. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
