Nepali Devotees Circumambulate Bagh Bhairav Temple Marking Birthday Of Hindu God
Lakhey, the Nepali demon god, performs rituals in the premises of Bagh Bhairav Temple in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, on August 17, 2025. An idol of Bagh Bhairav, especially made for the festival, is carried through the streets with traditional bands, followed by devotees chanting religious hymns and performing the Lakhey dance. On the occasion of Bagh Bhairav Jatra, devotees circumambulate the Bagh Bhairav temple. There is a myth that one is blessed with success and good health if they make a round of the Bagh Bhairav temple 108 times on this day. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
