Floods Threat Looms Over Kashmir
People park their vehicles on a flyover, likely as a precaution due to rising water levels from the Jhelum River following heavy rainfall in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on September 4, 2025. Heavy rainfall across Kashmir leads to a sharp rise in water levels of rivers and streams, prompting authorities to close the Srinagar-Jammu national highway as well as all schools and colleges for the day. The MeT department warns of more heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours, raising the risk of flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and waterlogging in low-lying areas. (Photo by Firdous Nazir/NurPhoto)
