Fishermen Using Beach Drag Nets
Fishermen bring their catch from the coast in Pangandaran, West Java, on September 7, 2025. The drag net is one of 10 groups of fishing gear that Indonesian fishermen are allowed to use based on the Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, which aims to protect small fishermen and environmental sustainability. The length of the rope used is 2000 meters with a 500-meter net pulled by 15-20 people working together in a traditional way. (Photo by Ardi Septian/NurPhoto)
