This dramatic drop in temperatures, accompanied by heavy rain and thunderstorms, is closely linked to a cold snap from Russia, which takes advantage of a rare weather pattern for this time of year, characterized by a powerful anticyclone over Scandinavia capable of activating currents from the east towards the Mediterranean.
