Body Of Bipin Joshi, A Nepali Student Killed In Hamas Captivity Brought Home

Nepali Prime Minister Sushila Karki drapes the national flag over the coffin of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who is killed in Hamas captivity, after his body is flown to Kathmandu, Nepal, on October 20, 2025. A photo of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who is killed in Hamas captivity in 2023, is kept on top of his coffin brought to Kathmandu on October 20, 2025. On October 14, 2025, Israeli authorities confirm the death of Joshi following the handover of the remains of those who died in Hamas captivity. The military group Hamas hands over the body of Bipin Joshi to Israel through the Red Cross. A student under Israel's Learn and Earn Programme, Joshi works at the Alumim kibbutz with 16 other Nepalis when Hamas launches its assault in October 2023. Ten Nepalis are killed, five are injured, and one escapes unharmed in the attack. Joshi's whereabouts are unknown since then. His name is missing from the list of 20 living hostages freed earlier under a US-brokered ceasefire deal. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
