Over 1,500 Runners Participate In Kashmir's Second International Marathon
Participants run near the Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) during the Kashmir Marathon in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on November 2, 2025. Kashmir hosts its second international marathon, drawing over 1,500 participants, including athletes from Germany, Denmark, the United States, Ethiopia, Kenya, Japan, and Sri Lanka. The event features two race categories: a 22-kilometer half marathon and a full 42-kilometer marathon, offering a challenging route through the region's scenic landscapes. The marathon marks a significant milestone, highlighting Kashmir's growing prominence as a hub for sports tourism. Meanwhile, the government initiative aims to boost tourism in the Himalayan region, which is badly hit following the deadly Pahalgam attack that kills 26 tourists. (Photo by Firdous Nazir/NurPhoto)
