An NYPD police officer is wounded in the face after a suspect opens fire with a shotgun at a home on Thomas S. Boyland Street in Brownsville, Brooklyn, United States, on November 17, 2025. An NYPD officer is injured when someone opens fire at police officers in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn Monday morning. The officer is rushed to Brookdale University Hospital in the back of a police cruiser, just blocks away from the shooting scene. Officers respond to the home on Thomas S. Boyland Street before 8 a.m. to investigate a homicide. A person armed with a shotgun gets into a shootout with the officers. The suspect is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
