Former Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli Asserts On Restoration Of Dissolved Parliament As UML Organizes Show Of Power Ahead Of March Election
Cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) attend the mass gathering after the show of power in Kathmandu, Nepal, on November 22, 2025. The show of power by CPN-UML comes ahead of the election of the House of Representatives called for March 5, 2026. Chairman of the UML and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is vocal against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), insisting there is no alternative to the restoration of parliament. Oli says the HoR is dissolved unconstitutionally and must be revived. He describes the recommendation for dissolution as unauthorized and unconstitutional, calling it ''a regrettable step taken in violation of the constitution.'' (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
