Residents Of The Xoco Neighborhood In Coyoacan, Mexico City, Protest Outside The Mitikah Tower Over Water Shortages And Gentrification

Residents of the Xoco neighborhood in Coyoacan, Mexico City, on November 28, 2025, protest outside the Mitikah Tower over water shortages and gentrification. They denounce the dispossession caused by the construction of real estate and commercial complexes surrounding their community. The original residents of Xoco face a limited and inefficient water supply, while the Mitikah Tower houses a private hospital, a residential and office tower, a shopping mall, and a luxury apartment tower with pools and cisterns to distribute water in considerable quantities.
