Colorful Lupin Season In Tekapo
Visitors are seen as they enjoy a lupin field in bloom in Lake Tekapo in the Mackenzie Country, South Island, New Zealand, on January 4, 2026. Tekapo is one of New Zealand's most popular tourist attractions. Each November, huge, colorful fields of lupin flowers begin to emerge along the lake shores, streams, canals, and highways of the Mackenzie Region of New Zealand. However, lupins are a non-native species of flowers and they cause a number of problems in New Zealand because they spread rapidly, pushing native flora and fauna out of their habitats.
