Nepal Starts Recruitment For “Election Police” As Nation Gears Up For March Polls
Applicants for the ''Election Police'' submit their forms outside the District Police Range in Kathmandu, Nepal, on January 9, 2026, for the temporary police force being recruited for the March 5 election. Nepal Police announce a call for applications to recruit 133,980 election police personnel for the upcoming March 5 polls. Nepali citizens aged 18 to 54 who can read and write are eligible to apply, as per the Nepal Police. A high-level security meeting in October decides to recruit temporary police as additional support for the security of the March 5 parliamentary elections.
