Hackers Disrupt Iranian State TV To Air Exiled Crown Prince

An editorial illustration depicting satellite signal disruption over Iran, Sunday, Jan. 20, 2026. Hackers interrupted Iranian state television satellite transmissions to broadcast footage of exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and messages urging security forces not to point their weapons at the people. The disruption came as the death toll from a government crackdown on nationwide protests reached at least 3,941, according to human rights activists. Iran's state broadcaster acknowledged the signal was momentarily disrupted by an unknown source. (Photo by Jaap Arriens/NurPhoto)
