Iran-Children-Reenactment Of A Military Operation
An Iranian cleric, who is a member of the Basij paramilitary force, holds a plastic AK-47 rifle while taking part in a military performance near the Iranian border at Shalamcheh with Iraq, 918 km (570 miles) south of Tehran, Iran, on March 24, 2014. Children aged seven to fourteen, in an area near the Shalamcheh border in southern Iran with Iraq, reenact the military operation for the liberation of Khorramshahr, which is occupied by the Iraqi army at the outset of the Iraq–Iran war in 1980. The performance is planned and carried out by a group of Basij military personnel under the command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
