X experienced a major outage on Monday, starting around 8:02am ET, with over 40,000 users in the US reporting problems on Downdetector. Both the website and mobile app were affected, displaying error messages with no posts loading and profile pages failing to appear. Unlike the platform's previous November 2025 outage which was caused by Cloudflare issues, the source of this disruption remained unclear, with no official explanation from X at the time of reporting.
