Rio de Janeiro performs simulated exercise against terrorism

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 16 July 2016: To increase security during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the military conducted a major exercise with simulated terrorist attack. The simulation was done in one of the train stations that will be used in the Olympics, the Deodoro Station. During the simulation, two men armed with rifles fired dozens of times and took hostages in the car. The security simulation managed to avert the terrorist threat with the use of large security apparatus, which had including helicopters and military specialized in chemical and biological weapons.
