Doxycycline Antibiotic - Popular Drug In India - Drug Control Board Issues A Warning
Doxycycline is a widely used and effective, broad-spectrum, cost-effective antibiotic in India, playing a critical role in treating various infections, including scrub typhus and pneumonia. However, India's apex drug regulatory agency, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, and the Drugs Controller General of India issue safety warnings for doxycycline. The organizations issue a notice to every state and union territory regarding this matter, clearly stating that a warning should be written on the doxycycline strip: ''Doxycycline CNS side effects (restlessness, anxiety, irritability, nervousness, and dizziness).''
