Protesters March In Utrecht To Honor Far-Right Activist Quentin Deranque, Netherlands
On February 26, 2026, far-right protesters take part in a march in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in tribute to far-right activist Quentin Deranque. Deranque dies on February 14, reportedly from injuries sustained during a confrontation between far-right and far-left supporters outside the Lyon Institute of Political Studies in France. In a public statement, the organizing action group says it plans to hold a memorial service at ACU for Deranque. Left-wing groups gather in front of ACU as a counter-protest to the planned commemoration. ACU, a left-wing political and cultural center on the Voorstraat in Utrecht, originally schedules a concert for Thursday. The event is moved forward by one day following the announcement of the planned commemoration. (Photo by Georgios Kostomitsopoulos/NurPhoto)
