A petrol nozzle is pictured at an Indian Oil fuel station in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on March 04, 2026. India takes all necessary steps to ensure the availability of major petroleum products at affordable rates, the federal oil ministry says in a post on social media platform X on Monday. The government monitors the evolving situation triggered by geopolitical developments in the Middle East, it says, after a meeting with company officials to review the supply of crude oil, liquefied petroleum gas, and other refined products. Meanwhile, India has sufficient stocks of crude oil and energy products (petrol and diesel) for the next 25 days each, cumulatively accounting for 50 days of sufficiency, The Hindu reports on Tuesday (Photo by Firdous Nazir/NurPhoto).
