74-year-old Woman Fatally Stabbed And 72-year-old Woman Injured In Stabbing Attack Inside 1700 Bedford Avenue

NYPD detectives and police officers work at the scene where a 74-year-old woman was fatally stabbed and a 72-year-old woman was injured in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York, United States, on March 22, 2026. On Saturday evening, at approximately 10:27 PM, police responded to 1700 Bedford Avenue, within the confines of the 71st Precinct, and discovered a 74-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds to the head and arms, and a 72-year-old woman with stab wounds to the back and arm. EMS transported the 74-year-old victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where she was pronounced dead. The 72-year-old victim was taken to the same hospital in stable condition. A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
