4 EMS Workers Attacked While Responding To Call For Help In The Bronx; Suspect In Custody

Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) are injured following an incident inside an apartment building at 1889 Sedgwick Avenue, Morris Heights, Bronx, New York, on April 9, 2026. The event occurs after 10 p.m. on the seventh floor as EMTs respond to a call involving a resident. A 22-year-old resident is involved in the incident, resulting in a 32-year-old EMT suffering a head laceration and a 20-year-old EMT sustaining facial injuries.
