Russian troops attack Kyiv, killing 4
Firefighters use an aerial ladder platform to extinguish a fire at warehouses in Kyiv, Ukraine, on April 16, 2026. On Thursday night, Russian forces conduct operations involving kamikaze drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles targeting the capital. The incident results in the deaths of four people, including a 12-year-old boy, and injures at least 60, among them three police officers and four medics. A total of 17 multi-storey apartment blocks, 10 private houses, a hotel, an office building, a car dealership, a petrol station, and a shopping mall are damaged. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Desnianskyi districts suffer the most damage.
