Walk For Peace In Sri Lanka

Vietnamese Buddhist monk Pannakara arrives at Independence Square in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on April 28, 2026, concluding a 210 km Walk for Peace across the country. Pannakara, who completed the trek barefoot, was accompanied by Aloka, a stray dog he rescued from India. Upon reaching the capital, the monk appeals for global peace and urges the public to practice greater kindness towards animals. (Photo by Isura Nimantha/NurPhoto)
