Kharkiv opens underground school for 1,800 students

A teacher explains the structure of the female reproductive system during a biology lesson at a newly opened underground school in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv, Ukraine, on May 4, 2026. The underground school provides education for nearly 1,800 pupils from six traditional schools in the city. There are also plans to organize weekend classes so that more children can attend.
