Tacloban, Philippines - Bernard Espina, 61 removes grass as part of the "cash for work" program in Tacloban City on June 11, 2014. Bernard receives 260 pesos, around 6 dollars per day in the program. On November 8, 2013, Haiyan, one of the most powerful typhoon to ever hit land, ravaged Eastern Visayas leaving thousands dead and homeless. Government estimates 16 million people to have been affected by the typhoon, with 6,300 reported dead and thousands more missing.
