Strawberry Harvesting Season In Kashmir, India
Freshly harvested strawberries are seen inside a bucket in a field on the outskirts of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on May 10, 2026. Kashmir produces around 2,500 to 3,500 tonnes of strawberries annually, with nearly 350 hectares under cultivation. Farmers are hoping for a strong market recovery this season after experiencing losses last year due to disruptions in tourism and trade. Agriculture and horticulture are key components of Kashmir's economy, supporting a large rural population. The region's orchards provide livelihoods to thousands of farming families and contribute significantly to local and national markets. (Photo by Firdous Nazir/NurPhoto)
