Thessaloniki International Airport In Greece
General view of Thessaloniki Makedonia International Airport SKG passenger terminal in Greece, on April 12, 2026, during a cloudy day. Aircraft including an Aegean Airlines Airbus A320neo, Swiss International Air Lines, easyJet, Helvetic Airways and additional airline planes are visible alongside the airport terminal and air traffic control tower. Thessaloniki Macedonia International Airport is the second busiest airport in Greece, serving millions of passengers annually and connecting the country's second largest city to destinations across Europe and beyond. The airport is operated by Fraport Greece, a subsidiary of Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide, and is a key hub for Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air and Sky Express. Ryanair, the low-cost airline, operates a base with three aircraft stationed at the airport, however as announced on May 8, 2026, Ryanair will close its Thessaloniki base at the end of October 2026 creating some controversy between Ryanair, Fraport and local authorities.
