Thousands of white storks (Ciconia ciconia) gather in a large breeding habitat in Solok Regency, West Sumatra, Indonesia, on May 17, 2026. White storks are wading birds known for their distinctive long necks, which can reach over 1 meter. They inhabit warm regions across Europe and West-Central Asia. White storks have a wingspan of 2.3 meters, and their plumage is mostly white. During migration, they form large flocks of thousands.
